Lakshmi Kandel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an extensive background working in both hospital and residential treatment settings. Lakshmi received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bucknell University and went on to get her Masters in Social Work at Columbia University. Thereafter she served in direct care and administrative roles where she developed a love for treating the “whole person” and working to strengthen family systems.
Lakshmi Kandel is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In addition she has worked with children and adults on the autism spectrum in residential settings including Edwin Gould and St. Christopher’s in New York. Lakshmi works with individuals struggling with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self- harm behaviors, personality disorders, and behavioral challenges. She is passionate about helping each of her clients and families reach a new normal, one that is rooted in strength, belonging and peace.
