Betsy Shah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings nine years of experience working within multiple therapeutic settings, including outpatient, extended day, and residential treatment.
Betsy currently holds the position of Program Director at Center for Discovery, a residential eating disorder treatment program for adolescents. She is highly passionate about the treatment of eating disorders and incorporates narrative and exposure therapy interventions into her work.
Betsy uses a variety of therapeutic and clinical techniques, tailoring her interventions to meet the individual needs of her clients. She has worked primarily with children, adolescents, and families, however enjoys working with individuals of all ages.
Betsy Shah incorporates playful interventions into her work with children and adolescents in an effort to promote feelings of safety and the freedom to have fun. She utilizes play therapy, is certified through the Creative Alternatives of New York (CANY) in therapeutic drama and has received additional training in “Project Joy,” a national movement to heal and strengthen children who have experienced trauma. Betsy promotes healing and growth by providing the highest quality of care so that individuals can lead healthier and happier lives.
