The DBT Skills Program for Binge Eating and Bulimia is a 26-week group-only program designed for adults coping with binge or binge-purge behaviors. This program is comprehensive, and does not require a separate individual therapy component.
The group instructs clients in the core DBT skills: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness, with a focus on mindful eating and a dialectical approach to food, exercise, and body image.
This is an evidence-based protocol, proven to be effective in reducing or eliminating binge eating and binge/purging. Clients will learn to identify and understand issues underlying problematic eating behaviors, and gain a proven toolkit with which to respond more effectively.
