One of our cornerstone services is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or BDT, which we offer to patients who suffer from bulimia and binge eating. We provide comprehensive treatment plans founded on various psychotherapies, self-care methods, and recovery techniques. These are all designed to help patients cope with their urges to binge, even after they leave the treatment center.

We provide a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment for you to heal, mentally. Our dedicated team of psychiatrists will give you a psychological toolkit that will aid in the management of your condition and set you on the road to long-term recovery.

Our clinic believes in a holistic approach to mental health, which is why we combine our DBT with mindfulness-based psychotherapies and relaxation techniques. With these, we guide our patients through unpleasant thoughts, memories, and emotions and enable them to understand these feelings without judgment. We believe that, through these techniques, our patients can develop strong and healthy coping strategies against anxieties and other negative feelings.

Often, people with eating disorders are afflicted with emotional dysregulation, which is an atypical response involving poorly modulated emotions to outside stimuli. Our mindfulness psychotherapies and DBT equip patients with effective coping mechanisms that allow them to regulate their emotions and respond to negative stimuli in a healthier manner. These coping mechanisms will aid our patients throughout their life, offering them a respite from negative emotions, anxieties, and unregulated responses, which all serve to fuel eating disorders.

How Our DBT Program Works

Over the course of 26 weeks, patients will join a group-only program that’s designed specifically to treat adults experiencing binge or binge-purge behaviors. Throughout the program, we’ll teach the group core DBT skills like mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. The program focuses on mindful eating through a dialectical approach to food, body image, and exercise.

DBT and mindfulness-based relaxation techniques are backed up by a body of evidence and have been proven effective in reducing, or in some cases eliminating, binge eating and binge-purge behaviors.
